CARTER BURDEN ROOSEVELT ISLAND OLDER ADULT PROGRAM
The Roosevelt Island Older Adult Program provides a variety of socialization, recreation and education programs including: weekday congregate luncheon meals; exercise, dance and yoga classes; computer training; health and wellness activities; arts programs; holiday parties; and other activities. Case assistance is offered to members/participants who need help in applying for government benefit programs, addressing landlord/ tenant disputes, or accessing medical care. The program also delivers weekday meals to homebound individuals on Roosevelt Island. The program is open to anyone over the age of 60 regardless of where they live, however the majority of participants live on Roosevelt Island.

Case management unit
Carter Burden's Case Management Unit provides a variety of services such as assistance with financial management, help applying for benefits, referrals to receive services such as home delivered meals and home-care and more . This unit serves homebound adults over the age of 60 who live between 59th Street & 143rd Street, from 5th Avenue to the East River or on Roosevelt Island.
making art work
Making Art Work helps connect older adults within New York City to arts, art culture, and art education. Participants are able to engage in art projects, take part in art classes, and even partake in an annual fashion show.
health and wellness programs
The Carter Burden Network provides extensive health and wellness workshops to older adults interested in improving and/ or maintaining their health and well-being. We partner with other community-based organizations to provide health services, educational workshops, and lectures on health-specific topics.
social services
Social services and case assistance programs include assistance which benefits and entitlements, advocacy, supportive counseling, daily money management, and end-of-life planning. Referrals are made to supportive serves including home care services, home-delivered meals, and socialization opportunities that enable the older individual to remain in their home safely and maintain a high quality-of-life.
