COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS
Each year, the Carter Burden Network works with thousands of volunteers who share in our dedication to ensuring that older people live safely and with dignity. CBN offers a wide variety of individual, community and corporate volunteer opportunities to meet your interests. Opportunities can range from a one-time service day to a long-term volunteer commitment, either in person or virtually. CBN can accommodate your preference to ensure that you have a meaningful and engaging volunteer experience.
Intergenerational volunteers are a key part of our community volunteering. Through support with meal programs, educational activities, and special events, these youth volunteers help ensure that older adults can age in place safely and with dignity. They provide companionship to our older adults, putting smiles on their faces and providing warmth and care. Reciprocally, older adults provide these youth volunteers with wisdom and mentorship thereby improving their social and emotional skills. Having positive adult interactions through service, youth feel part of a larger community and voice, advocating for CBN and older adults, and learn about multi-cultural traditions and values.
