The Love Wall is a Carter Burden Network art project that reflects our belief that the arts have incredible power to foster a connected, resilient and welcoming community for all. Over the past year, members of the East Harlem and greater NYC community have created ceramic tiles in the ceramic studio of the Macy’s Creative Arts Center at our Carter Burden/Leonard Covello Senior Program in East Harlem. Each tile reflects the theme of love from the artists’ unique perspectives. Over 250 handmade tiles will soon be installed as a Love Wall in a permanent East Harlem location (TBD).
The Carter Burden Network would like to thank:
Teaching artists Olivia Beens, Liz Curtin, and Judy Glasser for their dedicated efforts in coordinating this project.
CBN's Executive Director Bill Dionne and Associate Executive Director/Carter Burden Gallery Director Marlena Vaccaro for your creative leadership and support.
All of the artists and community members who brought this project to life by making tiles.
The CBN Board of Directors for their ongoing support of our artistic programming and creative endeavors.
Macy’s, Vidda Foundation, Brick Presbyterian Church, and NYC Council Members: Speaker Corey Johnson, Ben Kallos, Diana Ayala, and Helen Rosenthal for their support of Making Art Work.
Special thanks to Natalie Holt and Tamar MacKay for volunteering to produce this beautiful video.
