Congress announced a 350 million dollar increase to Alzheimer’s and dementia research funding for the 2020 fiscal year. If signed into law, this would be extremely beneficial for not only patients but caregivers. According to the 2015 Alzheimer's Disease Facts and Figures, “15.7 million adult family caregivers care for someone who has Alzheimer's disease or other dementia.”
Increase funding for research will help doctors reduce risks, find better early detection projects, and it can possibly move doctors closer to finding a treatment to an illness that slowly pulls people away from loved ones. Click here to read up on this exciting new announcement.
